POLICY
The South Fens Business Centre's policy
is to provide and maintain a safe and healthy
working environment for employees,
tenants and visitors to the Centre.
Tenants are responsible for health and safety
within their own units and must ensure that
any particular hazards are notified in writing
to the Centre Manager who has day-to-day
responsibility for the Centre. Particular
consideration should be given to hazards
that might arise - if Centre Staff or Emergency
Services need to gain access to any unit.
| |
Tenants
must ensure that they comply with current
health and safety
legislation and; |
| |
Ensure
immediate working environments are free
from potential hazards and that means
of escape are kept clear at all times |
| |
Provide
a First Aid Kit |
Acquaint
all with fire exits/escape routes and fire
safety instructions. In the event of any
accident the following information must
be recorded and an Accident Report Form
completed and a copy provided to the Centre
Manager to include;
| 1 |
Name
of injured person |
| 2 |
Details
of the Accident |
| 3 |
Name
of any witness |
| 4 |
Treatment
/ action taken |
SECURITY
The Centre is provided with a 24 hour monitored
CCTV which is linked to a central reporting
station.
Entry Cards
Access for 'approved' personnel to the Centre
is controlled by the use of access control
cards. These cards operate the main external
doors of the buildings. Cards may be added
or deleted as required and individual companies
are responsible for the recorded allocation
of cards to their staff, and for returning
the cards when staff leave their employment
or the company leaves the Centre.
All companies which use the system must
supply Reception with the name, address
and telephone number of a person who may
be contacted in case of an emergency. Failure
to do this will prevent companies from being
included in the system.
FIRE ALARM
The Fire Alarm panel to notify of an emergency
is situated at É..
Please note the fire alarm will automatically
shut down the gas fired boilers so that
they are no longer in operation.
Tenants are responsible for providing suitable
fire fighting equipment (such as extinguishers)
within their units.
