Code of Conduct and Best Practice
The 'Business Centre' will be a flagship
for the District and all the businesses
based there. It is critical that the centre
provides a high quality supportive environment
for all within it which should benefit all
who have contact with the centre to a range
of degrees.
All should strive to;

a beneficial environment for their business
and in engagements with the wider business

Promote
and maintain ethical standards of conduct,
dealing fairly and honestly with all
business contacts. |

Conduct
their business in a professional way
and not engage in practices which would
damage the image of the Business Centre. |

Comply
with requirements of Health and Safety,
Fire Regulations and Data Protection
legislation. |

Carry
appropriate public liability and other
insurances. |

Wall Fixing
No items of equipment may be fixed to the
walls of units, with the exception of lightweight
shelving, notice boards, etc. Subject to
reinstatement when removed, block walls
may be drilled and plugged for this purpose.
If in doubt, refer to the Centre Manager.
On no account must ANY
steelwork be drilled or items be bolted
to blockwork.
Window Blinds
Blinds are fitted to all offices and appropriate
common areas.
Carpets
All offices are carpeted as are the corridors.
Existing Finishes
Walls are painted throughout in the following
colour range.
Offices - Buttermilk
Common areas - blue
Ceilings - standard white grid pattern
Fllor tiles - Johnson Kerastar KER 28 Black
Signs
Company names for standard brushed stainless-steel
door plates and the reception signboard
will be arranged with the Centre Manager
at the application stage. A standard charge
of £25.00 will
be made to cover the costs.
Telephones
You will be provided
with the appropriate number of cards/fobs
needed to give you and any employees access
to the Centre together with the combination
to the entrance gate.
Power Points
Each office has a range of power points
installed which should allow a range of
different lay-outs to be provided to meet
each individual business needs.
Security
During normal opening
hours (9.00am to 5.00pm)
the main reception doors will be open and
visitors monitored and asked to sign in
(and out) by the Reception staff. Outside
these times individual tenants are able
to gain access using their own security
cards. Programmed access fobs/cards to individual
units are supplied to each tenant by the
Centre Manager.
Refuse and Waste
Tenants should note that they have a legal
responsibility for their refuse and waste.
Normal office rubbish can be put in the
corridors for collection by the cleaners
each evening. Other refuse must
be placed in the paladin bins in the car
park adjacent to the cycle sheds. Cardboard
boxes should be placed in the refuse area
behind the paladin bins. On no account should
rubbish be left by the paladin bins or in
bicycle sheds. If the bins are full, please
report this to Reception immediately.
Car Parking /Bicycles
Tenants' cars, motor cycles and bicycles
are left in car park at their own risk.
The South Fens Business Centre will not
accept responsibility for any damage to,
or theft of, or from, motor vehicles or
bicycles while parked on its property.
Problems Or Concerns
Any problems or concerns must be reported
to the Centre Manager or Reception staff
to determine how to resolve them.
